Can I have my line rental with one provider and my calls with another?
Carrier Pre-Selection, also referred to as 'CPS', is the facility where a customer can choose to transfer some or all of their call traffic to another service provider and still keep their existing Eircom phone line. A customer who has CPS will receive two separate bills, one for their Eircom line rental and another from their calls provider. In order to sign up for CPS, the customer must provide the new service provider with their telephone number, Eircom account number and details of the call options they want from the new operator. As part of this process, the customer must confirm that they authorise Eircom to transfer their call traffic. With this information, Eircom will transfer the calls to the new service provider. There are three ways in which customers can sign up for CPS and confirm authorisation; by signing a Customer Authorisation Form, over the phone with Third Party Verification (TPV) or over the internet by filling out an online form. Some CPS providers now offer single billing. Click here for more information on single billing.
Third Party Verification, also referred to as 'TPV' is an industry-agreed process that allows customers the flexibility to sign up with an alternative telecoms service provider over the phone, without the need to sign a physical contract.
