Where can I get information on using my mobile abroad ?

Another issue raised by consumer has been the cost of mobile phone calls and texts whilst travelling abroad.  These issues relate to both the price and lack of transparency of the charges.
There has been some positive initiatives made by 3 Ireland, O2 and Vodafone and there has been significant reductions in roaming charges for Irish customers travelling to Northern Ireland or Great Britain (individual operator terms and conditions apply).
ComReg has also recently added information on international roaming to its consumer website www.askcomreg.ie/roaming  where the cost of roaming in France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, UK, and USA is made available by network operator.
This allows consumers to check in advance which operator in these countries offers the best prices for making and receiving calls and texts.
