Broadband, Phone and Postal information for the Irish consumer from ComReg

Frequently Asked Questions

Fixed Line

I don't know which operator I'm with, what can I do?

Some consumers contacted ComReg in order to try to establish who their current fixed-line phone provider is.

The simplest way to ascertain which company is currently providing service on your home phone is as follows. From the phone in question, dial the code 19822. You should hear a recorded message indicating the name of the current provider. Note: Code 19822 will establish which provider carries your local calls. It is likely that the same provider will carry all of your calls, however to ensure that this is the case, you may also dial 19801 (national calls) and 19800 (international calls). This information is particurlary useful for residents of rented accommodation who move into a new home and wish to avail of fixed-line services but are unaware of who the previous tenent was receiving service from.
