I have left my provider but am still being billed - what can I do ?

Sometimes when a consumer cancels their service with their provider they continue to receive bills form that provider.
ComReg would like to advise all customers that when cancelling their subscription they should:

Always check the terms and conditions of their product in case there are some restrictions with moving to another operator; such as minimum contract periods, minimum notice periods etc
Additionally, customers should be aware that some contracts call for written notice of cancellation.

Ask the provider for details of when their final bill will be issued

Ensure there is some documentation or proof of cancellation; for example a registered letter or fax receipt outlining your request to cancel your subscription.
This may overcome a situation where an operator states that they have not received the cancellation from the customer.
