Internet

If I get broadband, what happens to my dial-up internet service?

If you get broadband, this does not automatically cancel your dial-up internet package. Many consumers assume it will, especially if they are switching to a new service provider. Unless you specifically cancel the dial-up service, the recurring charge for dial-up will continue to appear on the bill.

If the subscription is with Eircom Net then the terms and conditions of the Eircom.net contract require you to send a specific cancellation email to eircomnetcontracts@eircom.net.

Your subscription should be cancelled from the next billing period onwards.

If you have dialup internet with another provider you should check the terms & conditions or contact your service provider to find out how to cancel the dial-up internet service.
