Further reductions for consumers - Roaming Regulation Proposed Amendments

On 23 September the EU Commission published its proposals to extend the scope and duration of the EU Roaming Regulation. The amendments must be passed by the European Parliament and to the Council before the amendments become law.

ASAI issues Advice Note on Broadband Advertising

20th March 2008

The Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland (ASAI) has issued a revised Advice Note to Broadband Providers which sets out new requirements for broadband advertising. The Note which was issued recently will come into effect on 7th April 2008. In drawing up the Advice Note, the ASAI drew on the guidance and advice of the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) and the National Consumer Agency (NCA).


Reduced roaming text message rates

6th March 2008

On 13th February 2008 Vodafone annouced a reduction on roaming text message (SMS) rates. The new rate for sending a text when roaming is 29 cent per text. This applies to all networks worldwide. ComReg welcomes this reduction in roaming prices.


Consumer Information Notice - Phone Line Fault Repairs

ComReg wants to ensure that consumers are aware of their rights in relation to phone line fault repairs. A consumer information notice published today outlines what to do if you experience a fault on your line and what your rights are if this occurs.
