Eircom – VAT Issue

Eircom has confirmed to ComReg that during December 2011 it issued a number of consumer bills for electronic communications services with the incorrect VAT rate applied (23% instead of 21%). Eircom has also confirmed that it will reimburse its customers on their next bill for the incorrect amount charged.
In January 2012, the VAT rate changed from 21% to 23%, this increase was announced in Budget 2012.
