ComReg Events Programme

ComReg’s Events Programme:

·        Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition 2009

ComReg will have a stand at the Young Scientist Exhibition from 6th - 10th of January 2009.

ComReg will be there to provide information on the use of radio spectrum, practical demonstrations on radio equipment and general consumer telecommunication queries!

·        SFI Science Summit 2008

ComReg had a stand at the SFI Science Summit 2008 on Monday 17th of  November and Tuesday 18th of November 2008.

ComReg were there to answers questions regarding radio spectrum, consumer issues and general telecommunication queries.

· Ideal Homes Exhibition -16th October 2008

The Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) is the statutory body responsible for the regulation of the electronic communications and postal sectors. 
 
Participation at the Ideal Homes Exhibition was part of an ongoing initiative by ComReg to provide consumers with
information and advice on various telecommunications and postal issues that are of concern to them.

Whether it was assistance in resolving a dispute with a service provider or simply seeking information ComReg offered impartial and independent advice, which protects consumers and helps to promote awareness of consumer issues.

 

  • In October 2008 ComReg held a further one-day clinic in the Houses of the Oireachtas again focusing on demonstrating www.callcosts.ie and showing members and staff how to evaluate their communications costs and compare packages for their needs.

 

 

  • Library Visits September 2008

 

In September 2008, ComReg held consumer clinics at a number of libraries throughout the country.  The initiative was to provide consumers with information and advice on various telecommunications and postal issues.  Libraries that hosted the events were Watch House Cross in Limerick, the Aidan Heavey Public Library in Athlone Civic Centre, WexfordTown library and the CountyLibrary at County Hall Tallaght.  Following these events the libraries offered free access to ComReg’s consumer website (www.askcomreg.ie) and price comparison information via our interactive website (www.callcosts.ie).


 

  • In May 2008 ComReg held a two-day programme in Dáil Eireann demonstrating our price comparison website www.callcosts.ie.  ComReg showed Oireachtas members and staff how to evaluate their communications costs and compare packages for their needs.

 

  •   National Ploughing Championships –September 2007


In September 2007 ComReg hosted a consumer stand at the National Ploughing Championships. The event attracted over 150,000 consumers over the three days.
