Premium Rate Services Code of Practice Update

In an Information Notice published on 5 April 2012 On 2 June 2012, the High Court put a stay on the implementation of sections 4.15, 4.22, 5.13-5.15 and 5.64 of the Code of Practice, following an application made by Modeva Interactive, Zamano plc and Phone Paid Services Association Limited. ComReg notified the public of this stay by way of an Information Notice dated 2 June 20122. Today, 25 July 2012, the High Court has lifted the stay. Accordingly, these provisions are now fully in effect from today’s date, the rest of the Code of Practice having been in effect from 5 June 2012. All licensed PRS providers should therefore make immediate arrangements to ensure that they comply with sections 4.15, 4.22, 5.13-5.15 and 5.64 of the Code of Practice as well as the other provisions of the Code of Practice. In this regard, PRS providers can contact ComReg with any queries.
